La Sarita es una de las bandas que mas me ha impactado recientemente, y no solo por el hecho de que sea una banda perucha (hace rato que no producimos nada interesante), pero su propuesta sale de márgenes que hasta hoy se han conocido y se proyectan con mucha certeza hasta el momento.
La fusión con ritmos criollos de Lima, melodías andinas e incluso música de la selva es muy fresca y además muchas de sus letras dan precisas en temas muy sensibles. Tuve la oportunidad de verlos en Abril 2007 en Lima y me dejaron perplejo: la música muy bien trabajada y muy claros en su proyecto. La cita fue en La Noche de Barranco. De allí los videos que se aprecian mas abajo, disculpen la calidad.
La Sarita is one of the bands that, lately, has struck me the most, and not because they are peruvians (it’s been a while since anything interesting comes out from my country), but what they have to offer goes beyond certain established boundaries. I think they have visualized something really interesting, so far.
The fusion with creole music from Lima, Andean melodies, and even rhythms from the Peruvian Amazon is energizing. At the same time, many of their lyrics have a leftist approach towards social issues. I saw them performing live in Lima on april 2007 and they left me astonished: loads of work in their music and very forward in their pursuit. The place was La Noche in Barranco. From that time the uploaded videos, forgive the quality.
